Project Description
Nestled beneath the eastern flanks of Greece’s Parnitha mountain, Lake Villa is a tranquil holiday residence designed to engage closely with its natural setting. The project explores the relationship between architecture, landscape, and movement, positioning the house as a quiet extension of its surroundings rather than a dominant object within them.
The villa is organised around two primary axes of circulation. A vertical axis establishes a direct connection between the house and the lake, reinforcing the relationship between dwelling and landscape, while a horizontal axis separates public and private zones, structuring daily life through clear spatial transitions. This dual system allows the interior and exterior spaces to interlock while maintaining privacy and clarity of use.
Open façades, terraces, and patios are carefully positioned to maximise sunlight, views, and natural ventilation. The architecture balances openness with enclosure, allowing the living spaces to expand toward the landscape while more intimate areas remain protected. Overall, the design seeks a sense of harmony, integrating contemporary living requirements with the character, scale, and atmosphere of the surrounding environment.
